Greetings my people, it has been a while. We drove to the Grand Canyon and back, pictures will trickle in over the next few weeks. I am in no rush to do anything, my new, “I’ll do it when I am ready,” philosophy is working well for me. I don’t rush anything, it’s all on my time.
I have so many things I want to share, today I will share a new hobby that is giving me much joy and contentment. I have found that I can sketch a bit and then paint with watercolours.
I always associated drawing and painting with more childlike activities, nothing a serious adult would do. But, I am learning that, as with other things in my life, I was wrong. Sketching and Painting, especially with watercolours, is suitable for us serious adults. I would encourage everyone to get one of those cheap sketch pads/books from the Dollar stores, a couple of pencils and put it in your carry bag and take them with you everywhere.
Pull it out when you are moved to do so, you don’t have to be good, this is all for you! A unique house or pastoral meadow scene is just a few pencil strokes away. By sketching things that move you, you will find that you notice more about the objects of your affection. More of what you already like! Does it get any better?
I have included two of my recent sketches, the first is of a nightclub in Chicago called, “Blues on Halstead.” We had such a wonderful time there when we visited Chicago. The other is,”The Open Book,” a bookstore in England.
Get one of those cheap sketch pads/books from the Dollar stores, a couple of pencils and put it in your carry bag and Live the good life!
