Ancient Forest

Between Prince George and McBride, BC, you’ll find a remarkable provincial park called Ancient Forest / Chun T’oh Whudujut. Within the park are hiking trails that lead through a truly ancient landscape, past thousand-year-old western red cedars and an incredible biodiversity of plants, mosses, lichens, and fungi.

What more could a photographer want?

We didn’t have time to explore all of this wilderness park intently, but the visitor centre description does promises 2.3 kilometers of boardwalk and access to the magnificent Big Tree waterfall (which I have not seen). Even in the short time we spent there, we were completely awestruck.

Next time we come this way, we’ll make sure we will definitely set aside the time to explore more of this remarkable place.

And so should you.
