More nostalgia

Okay, so here’s a great question for you: why do I love street art, and why do I get emotional when I hear bagpipes?

First off, welcome to London’s Leake Street Art Tunnel.

I know exactly why I have such an affection for street art. It’s free, it’s wild, and I’ve always been a bit of a hippie when it comes to colour. I loved freestyle dancing, dangling jewellery, and tie-dyed clothing. Back then I was free. My knees never hurt, my back didn’t ache, and I certainly didn’t have to visit the loo nearly as often.

I like street art because it reminds me of who I was when I was much younger. Every splash of colour, every mural, every artist’s expression takes me back to a time when life seemed a little simpler and a lot more carefree.

As for the bagpipes… I’ll have to take that one up with my therapist. Yeah… I still can’t quite wrap my head around why they get to me the way they do.

I’ll worry about that on another day.
