I love being in London. At first, I couldn’t quite explain why, but now I think I understand. When I was young, I spent countless hours listening to the music of the British Invasion—not just the Beatles, but Herman’s Hermits, Freddie and the Dreamers, Chad & Jeremy, and so many others. Life has since given me the opportunity to visit London several times, and walking its streets, I can almost see the city as it was in the early 1960s. So much of it still feels familiar, remarkably unchanged, especially when compared with the dramatic transformations I’ve watched reshape the place I call home.
